Day 2 – Day Sight seeing at Doodhpathri, Evening transfer to Srinagar Hotel Sidiq Palace.
Day 3 – Gulmarg, night stay
Day 4 – Srinagar, Local
Day 5 – Pahalgam night stay
Day 6 – Srinagar local
Day 7 – Departure from Srinagar Internation Airport.
Brief Introduction about the booking and Itinerary
This was our first travel group. We have recently started our company of Tour and Travel Agency under Jammu and Kashmir Tourism department. We were yet to publicity about the brand that one of our known person came up to us to ask us if we know any good travel agency for one of their esteemed official guests. We were proud to announce that we are ourself starting this venture but had yet not taken any groups. It was just our start up. The known person discussed about our company with Mr Iqhwan and he was more than happy to give this opportunity to us to host them as our first guest and bear with us in case of difficulties. Mr Iqhwan was very generous and travel experienced person. It was little tough for us because of his already having a high status and our first opportunity, so we took it as a challenge. The trip itinerary was not pre-planned. Everything was kept on the go decisions. Again, another challenge for us. But to our pleasure Mr Iqhwan and Ms Chandni were so friendly and down to earth that they gave their full support in bearing with us. And we didn’t let them down either. We made all the possible arrangements whatever they desired. Every day the itinerary was planned and decided, bookings were done on the way of drives itself. Looking for best hotels, making the bookings, and all that they wanted to explore we made it possible for them. To make sure that their travel goes smooth, one of our own managing member volunteered to be their driver as well as guide though the tour and stayed with them wherever they went and ensured that they had the best homely experience of their travel. We thank Mr Iqhwan and Ms Chandni from the core of our heart for their generosity and support to make our first travel group itself an opportunity to test our ability and all the needed experience to be ready for this venture fully. I am handling the IT, web and booking management of Breathe Air. Mr Ilyas, the managing owner approached me with this startup he was planning and preparing for this venture from quite few years now, registration, making contacts, network and list of all the necessary preparation required for any tour and travel business. We had been working on this together from a year now, we were almost ready to launch when suddenly this group was brought to us to look after personally and arrange their trip through some tour and travel agency within next two days. Taking it as an opportunity, we discussed with the customer Mr Iqhwan that if they were willing to give us the chance to host their trip ourself under our own name of Breathe Air. To our pleasure, the customer was also generous to agree to give us this opportunity. To ensure that our first trip goes well, I volunteered to host the entire trip myself by going as driver and guide with the group instead of hiring the services of anyone else. I got the vehicle through Mr Ilyas and went to went to the Airport on the xx day of December 2022. There was multiple delays in their flights so their arrival was very late then scheduled time. I received the couple late evening when almost every shop and market were supposed to be closed. It’s a winter season here but weather was still clear and no snowfall was in the city however the hills were having good snowfalls as usual. The first thing that the customers asked was about the Hukka. First time I had heard about it from one of my friend and second time was hearing it from them. We had to reach far off to Doodhpathri but on the request of customer I agreed to look if we could find any available stores yet open to provide what they were looking for because I still didn’t knew about it. The customer himself searched on the net about nearby places and asked me about these places. I knew the locations were nearby so I asked him to call the given number. The shop was closed the the shop guy said he lives nearby and if we could reach to him, he could provide the required things which he was having. The phone charger battery were missing also so we had to look for that also for emmergency because the place we were going is the forest hills were there will surely be nothing as such available. We finally got all necessary things required by the customer and we headed to the hotel. Their we had to prepare some special arrangements for the couple’s room on the request of the Customer which he requested specially as a surprise for his partner, and the arrangements were with me only. It was the fresh snowfall going on in Doodhpatrhi which was another special thing that the customer wanted to have and to their luck it was today only. There was little difficulty in driving the hilly roads since this was fresh snowfall, and late night but we reached safely to the Hi Speed Resort Doodhpathri which was their first booked place. Since we had to do the special arrangements in their room which was with me only, we asked the guests to take rest and warmth in the cafe with the hot coffee meanwhile we prepare for the special arrangements. All done in hurry but on time. I couldn’t sleep whole night to make sure everything goes well, and the customers also were not able to sleep and miss the snowfall. This is the only hotel in the heart of Doodhpathri and newly started so not much people knew about it yet as such there were only two or three rooms booked out of 20.
The next day was in Doodhpathri only for the local sight seeing. It was so heavy snowfall and cold that they didn’t wanted to come out but see the beauty from inside. Unaware of the chilling cold, they were not knowing what warm clothes to get, what they had got was not sufficient for the chilled cold here. So we made sure they had extra arrangements of heating for them. Seeing heavy snowfall and knowing that this place will remain close for few days, if not left, even when they had another night booked here, we decided to check out today only. The hotel management was generous also to refund this day.
Rest of the days went planning in the evening for the night stay and in the morning for the day plan randomly on the go. But one thing was fixed, wherever we go we had to make sure we get to the HUKKA points which was must for the customer. In this hunt, I got to know about this HUKKA and also all the HUKKA points in the valley. I didn’t felt that I was moving as an operator or driver or guide with some tour group, it was like family friends moving around. That’s how Mr Iqhwan and Ms Chandni treated me and that’s how I ensured their happiness and care wherever I could. It was my first and probably last as a driver cum guide but it was one of my best experience of life. I wish this couple best of the life and hope they visit again. Thank you.
